About us

We are Luiza Bonin and Leonardo Coelho, Materials Engineers from UFSC (2009-2014), with an exchange program at École Polytechnique (Paris) and monographs completed at the CIRIMAT research center (Toulouse). We both hold PhDs in Engineering and Technology Sciences from UMONS (2014-2018, Belgium).

Luiza Bonin is passionate about technological innovation and education. Despite having taught at European Universities, she is recognized for her accessible teaching approach. She is driven by change and believes that everything good can become even better with the help of Science and Technology. Luiza builds bridges between academics and industry professionals, understanding both sides and bringing positive results to all. At the foundation of her training, she is a specialist in sustainable materials and processes. Her expertise in technology transfer from laboratories to industry dates back to her doctoral studies, having been honored with the renowned "Chimie appliquée" Award 2020 (FNRS). Her research proposed innovative alternatives to replace heavy metals in electrodeposition chemical baths, positively impacting the automotive and electronics industries. Patent holder and author of books and various publications on coatings and technological innovation, Luiza continues working as a research supervisor for UGent students (Belgium), focusing on innovation and sustainability.

While conducting data research for Belgium, we settled in Alto Vale Catarinense in 2022 and, in November 2024, founded IAlto, a family business.

Leonardo Coelho is the brain behind the creation of AI Assistants and model training. Leonardo doesn't rest until he masters data processing and extraction of useful information for his clients, delivering a finished product of technical excellence. He has an analytical vision in which every detail is important in building data-based decisions. Leonardo is generous with his knowledge, always ready to listen and find the best solution based on information extraction. During his academic career in materials, he developed skills in programming, data science, and AI. Working with machine learning model training since 2020, he is an international highlight in publications related to the use of AI in corrosion and predictive maintenance. Researcher at ULB (Belgium), Leonardo is the author of 50+ publications, with post-doctoral positions at Brussels universities (ULB, VUB) and post-graduate studies in statistics and data from MIT.
